Alexander & Co Business Growth Series
March 24, 2020
An opportunity for business owners, managers, entrepreneurs, startups and scaleups to get ahead of their competition
About this Event
In collaboration with The Business Growth Hub and our friends at Barclays Eagle Labs, Alexander & Co and Pareto Alexander’s Business Growth Series provides an opportunity for business owners, entrepreneurs, startups and scale-ups to get ahead of their competition. It also provides an informal environment to network.
April 2020 marks the start of a new tax year, with several key changes due to be implemented that could affect your business. The UK will also be exiting the EU on 31 January 2020 and the delayed 2019 autumn budget is now scheduled for 11 March 2020. These will bring a number of already outlined and potentially new tax policies forward. Join us for a spot of breakfast, some informal networking and gain valuable insight on how to help your businesses grow in 2020. Member of the team will also be on hand afterwards to answer any specific questions you may have.
At our first event of 2020, John McCaffery, Tax Partner at Alexander & Co will discuss the following items:
- A brief recap of the tax year and importantly, what your business needs to do before 6 April 2020
- What tax changes does your business need to be aware of for the 2020 tax year? (including changes to IR35 and Domestic Reverse Charge)
Joining us is Alex Savage from Pareto Alexander. Alex works as an independent financial adviser and regularly advises clients on such matters including pensions, investments & savings, protection, including key person protection and shareholder cover and employee benefits. Alex will be covering the following topics:
- Are you indispensable? SMEs often have one or two key individuals they rely heavily on for the business to be a success. How can you manage that risk?
- The importance of a shareholder agreement, especially in a growing business
In association with The Business Growth Hub, we are pleased to welcome Peter Gaunt who will summarise how Brexit could now impact your business in 2020 and how to minimise disruption and maximise new opportunities.
Who should attend?
- The seminar and networking session will be of interest to all business owners and managers
- You will particularly benefit from this event if you are a privately owned business, recently started trading, scaling-up, or an entrepreneur
